THE HSOC IS HOME TO A NEW WELLNESS CLINIC |
||
Ocean City, NJ – June 30, 2008 - The Humane Society of Ocean City is now holding weekly wellness clinics. Every Wednesday, starting July 8th members of the community can make appointments for their cats and dogs to receive standard wellness exams including rabies and distemper vaccines, nail trims, heartworm tests and FIV/Feline Leukemia tests. The clinics will be held in the same building as the HSOC’s popular Spay/Neuter Clinic which also includes a humane education center. Dr. Jane Cappiello DVM, will be the veterinarian for the clinic and Angela Coyle, manager and head vet tech of the HSOC will assist. Dr. Cappiello has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1998, and Coyle has been a vet tech with the shelter for the past 15 years. “This is a logical step forward for the Humane Society of Ocean City,” said Coyle. She added “many people are looking to surrender their animals or re-home them because veterinary costs are too high. In this economy people are being forced to choose between their animals and making ends meet. This way we can help both members of the community, and their animals.” Wellness services will be offered at affordable rates, however, this clinic is only for routine wellness services and is not meant to be a substitute for your own veterinarian. The clinic does not offer emergency services and appointments are required. Sick animals will not be permitted at the clinic. The public is invited to attend the grand opening, ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 8th at 11 a.m. For more information on the Wellness Clinic visit www.HSOCNJ.org, or call them at 609-399-2018. The shelter and clinic are located at 1 Shelter Rd, in Ocean City, NJ. |
